Ciara Lyons, class of 2010, Speech & Drama Teacher

Ciara Lyons has studied Singing, Acting, Dancing and Musical Theatre from the age of 5 in The Independent Theatre Workshop. She has trained vocally with Irish Musical Theatre legend, Rebecca Storm, and has done intensive courses in Mountview Academy of Arts in London, Youth Music Theatre UK, and acting in the Gaiety School of Acting. She has a BA in Drama Studies from UCD, and has her Licentiate Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama from the Leinster School of Music and Drama. Credits include the lead roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Baby Bear in the Little Red Riding Hood (Gaiety Theatre), Jasmine in Aladdin (Olympia Theatre) and Belle in Beauty and the Beast (Olympia Theatre), Annie in Annie (National Concert Hall), Maisie in Brian Friel’s The Home Place (Gate Theatre), and many more professional stage productions. TV and Film credits include the lead Katie ‘The Bombmaker’ (Sky TV), Rats Tales (ITV), Fair City, The Clinic, and many commercials.

She has headlined the Celtic show ‘Irish Spirit’ in Paris, and has also supported many famous artists such as Olly Murs, Aslan and The Original Rude Boys at the Olympia Theatre. Ciara teaches Singing, Dance, Creative Drama and Speech & Drama in The Independent Theatre Workshop.
